  5. Why do they need to show insurance card(s) on every visit?

Unfortunately we have had patients in the past that have failed to update us when their insurance has changed. By presenting the card at every visit we can confirm, and have on record, with the patient that the information they are giving us is current and valid.

  6. Can a patient return after their visit with their insurance card?

No. The card must be presented before services are rendered. Insurance cards will not be accepted after the visit.

  7. What if the patient has not received their card from their insurance carrier. Can they still be seen?

Yes but as a self-pay patient. The patient should only schedule an appointment if they have their insurance card or can present a temporary card. If they do not have their card they will be responsible for the charges.

  8. Do we participate with all insurance carriers?

No. We are Out-of-Network on some insurance plans. For those plans we do not accept assignment. The patient will be asked to pay for all services rendered that day. We will file the claim to the insurance carrier who will then reimburse the patient what was allowed. The reimbursement may not be the full amount of the claim filed.

    a) The Copay is the amount a patient pays each time medical service is accessed and is collected prior to services being rendered.
